Rosenberg’s Furniture Store opened at its Tulane Avenue location in the early 1920s. The store remained at that location until it closed in the early 2000s.
While it is unlikely that the average New Orleanian could recite from memory the street address of City Hall, Police Headquarters, or the Federal Court Building, it is very likely that the same citizen would respond quickly to a question about the street address of Rosenberg’s: 1825 Tulane!
Mention of that address would, in most cases, immediately call to mind the famous jingle sung by a young child.
That’s nostalgia.
